A senior engineering seat on a team that is still being assembled, which means the foundation is yours to help lay. You will own backend work in Java and Spring, take projects from requirements through to production, and help establish how the team builds.
What you'll do
- Own projects end to end, from understanding requirements and designing the solution through to delivering and maintaining it in production
- Build and maintain robust backend systems in Java and Spring
- Contribute across the stack, with opportunities to work in React
- Make sound calls on architecture, scalability, performance and maintainability
- Troubleshoot complex engineering and production issues with the team
- Apply a solid understanding of DevOps and operational practice to keep systems reliable
- Help establish engineering practices as part of a new team
- Work with cross-functional teams to ship quality software on time
What we're looking for
- 5 to 8 years of strong software engineering experience
- Expert-level backend skills, hands-on in Java and Spring
- A good understanding of software architecture, scalability and system design
- Experience with React and full-stack development
- A working knowledge of DevOps and production practice
- Strong problem-solving and real ownership of technical challenges
- Clear communication and a collaborative way of working
